300 Questions

Blogs are about sharing your thoughts with others, letting them see who you really are. And a lot of successful bloggers are able to do that while talking about DIY home repair and a new recipe for falafel. So I decided to implement a new weekly post, where I answer a question from a guided journal, and then ask my readers the same question. Let’s start a conversation and learn more about ourselves and each other!

Question one:

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

I don’t think that ‘perfect’ happiness truly exists in the long term. There are moments of perfection that remain happy memories, and help to carry you through the hard times that life presents you with. As time passes they become golden comforts, snippets of ‘perfect happiness,’ and that is enough for me. That being said, I didn’t have the best life, and living everyday with a chronic illness does not predispose me to experiencing many moments of happiness or perfection.

In my experience, happiness is what you make of it. The appreciation of the imperfect moments. Being able to look past yourself and find beauty in the world you inhabit. Or maybe just a new pair of socks. In a way, happiness is a skill, and some of us have a harder time cultivating it than others. That’s why those brief instances mean so much.

What do you think?
